A wonderful device added to the Accelerator Table - a multistage (40 coils! ) coilgun MR9. Its peculiarity, in addition to the recuperative scheme, consists precisely in the gigantic number of accelerating steps - a record among all the gauss-guns of the Table. And not only that - to be honest, I have never seen an accelerator with such a number of windings in all the time of my passion for Gauss-building, i.e. for almost 20 years! This design also made it possible to obtain a huge acceleration length of more than 40 cm, which, combined with the relatively low energy spent on the shot (approx. 126 J) gave an absolutely phenomenal efficiency - more than 32 % !! This in itself allows us to call ... Read more »

Recently, I decided to fix some links in the Accelerator Table. In addition, there was a desire to make the information in the table more specific, namely, to take into account such a value as the length of projectiles when calculating the G-factor.

In the course of the work that began, errors in previously performed calculations were also revealed, and as a result, I had to conduct a complete revision of my recent articles with corrections to the formulas in them and changes to the numerical values ... Read more »

New video dedicated to the "brains" of electromagnetic accelertors added to my Youtube channel, interrupting its prolonged lull (no english-spoken movies have been there for 8 months, my fault....).

Good luck to everyone in 2024 again!

Another useful thing from Aliexpress - a miniature voltmeter. Having +5 V to the red wire regarding to the black one (which may be conviniently taken from any USB-charger with the corresponding connector)  it can measure up to 3000 V (!) on the white lead - very handy for gauss-builders....

As part of equipping my home laboratory, I bought myself such a miniature power source from Aliexpress. 5V x 30 A are squeezed into dimensions of 185x100x78 mm and weight less than 700 grams! The control potentiometers also have a push action, so that each digit of current and voltage can be adjusted separately. There is nothing superfluous in the kit - a power cord and two banana-crocodile cables are what you need, I love minimalism. Such an animal costs less than 30$.

I received it today, tested (nothing heats up even at maximum power, limitations work, accuracy is normal) and decided to order a couple more.

Massive update of the Accelerator Table: two models of different types have been added at once, and both are record-breaking in their own way.

Firstly, the innovative accelerator from Tokamake. The transistor switching circuit with the original recuperative system made it possible to achieve a record value of the G-factor: G ≈ 0,508. This is the maximum for accelerators with cylindrical projectiles, not counting the unique DB6L design using the ... Read more »
