A wonderful device added to the Accelerator Table - a multistage (40 coils! ) coilgun MR9. Its peculiarity, in addition to the recuperative scheme, consists precisely in the gigantic number of accelerating steps - a record among all the gauss-guns of the Table. And not only that - to be honest, I have never seen an accelerator with such a number of windings in all the time of my passion for Gauss-building, i.e. for almost 20 years! This design also made it possible to obtain a huge acceleration length of more than 40 cm, which, combined with the relatively low energy spent on the shot (approx. 126 J) gave an absolutely phenomenal efficiency - more than 32 % !! This in itself allows us to call this coilgun the best created at the moment, but it also occured to have a record G-factor of 0.858! In a word, respect to the authors!

For me personally, the analysis of this model turned out to be useful also because it confirmed the effectiveness of my assessment methodology in the field of very low magnetic field energies - about 3 Joules per stage. This is almost half as much as for the most "economical" coilguns, which were previously calculated by me, and the usual value of this indicator is several tens of J / stage...

P.S. Kind people reminded me about an interesting coilgun that flashed a few years ago on the Forum 4hv.org . There were even more coils- 48 pieces! Unfortunately, I was unable to contact the author at the time to find out the parameters necessary for entering into the Table, so this construction fell out of my consideration. The photo is below.
