The article presents the results of measurements of the parameters of JCCON capacitors with a nominal value of 450V 220mkF. Their influence on the parameters of the projected electromagnetic accelerator in terms of its mass and the maximum achievable velocity of the projectile is discussed.

This note is a kind of "icing on the cake" for a series of publications devoted to the analytical study of the properties of electromagnetic accelerators of ferromagnetic bodies. It is dedicated to a special case of a coilgun built according to the "traveling wave" scheme. The characteristics of such an accelerator in terms of the efficiency and velocity of the projectile are analyzed.

The effect of a metal barrel on the efficiency of a coilgun is investigated by measuring the inductance of a coil fitted to a metal tube in various configurations and comparing the results with the inductance of the same coil without a conductive core. The results of measurements at various frequencies and the corresponding speeds of motion of the projectile accelerated by the coilgun are presented.

The analysis of the data on multistage coilguns collected in the Table of Accelerators by January 1, 2022 was carried out. The high informativeness of the parameter G in terms of characterizing the quality of accelerators was confirmed.

A new criterion for evaluating the quality of multistage reluctance accelerators is proposed - G-factor. The filling of the corresponding table has begun, which should include information on all currently available coilguns to calculate the corresponding G value.

With the help of analytical estimates for fields and forces derived in this section, the relations for coilguns are obtained, in particular:

- the maximum energy values acquired by an (infinitely long) projectile during acceleration are estimated;

- graphical dependences of the optimal values of dimensions of the accelerating coils (for a fixed length of the projectile) and the length of the projectile (for a fixed geometry of the coil) for the development of maximum speed and efficiency are obtained;

- the ratio for the accelerating force acting on an infinitely thin projectile is obtained, and on its basis the type of force for a projectile of an arbitrary cross-section shape is determined;

- the maximum possible velocity of the accelerated body in a single-stage accelerator with a fixed power is estimated.

A basic component of any electromagnetic coil-based launcher will be described here - the coil itself. The section will be formed by short publications placed on separate pages - they will discuss the features of the windings concerning electromagnetic launching issues, such as driving force on a ferromagnetic, acceleration efficiency etc.
